Power generation principle

When the sun shines on the semiconductor p-n junction, a new hollow-electron pair is formed. Under the action of the p-n junction electric field, the hole flows from the n-region to the p-region, and the electron flows from the p-region to the n-region. When the circuit is switched on, the current is formed. That's how photovoltaic cells work.
Solar power generation there are two ways of solar power generation, one is the light-heat-electricity conversion mode, the other is the light-electricity direct conversion mode.
(1) the light-heat-electricity conversion method USES the heat energy generated by solar radiation to generate electricity. Generally, the heat energy absorbed is converted into the steam of working medium by the solar collector, and then the steam turbine is driven to generate electricity. The former process is the light-heat conversion process; The latter process is a thermal-electrical conversion process.
(2) photoelectric direct conversion mode this mode USES photoelectric effect to directly convert solar radiant energy into electric energy. The basic device of photoelectric conversion is solar cell. Solar cell is a device that directly converts solar light energy into electric energy due to the photovoltaic effect. It is a semiconductor photodiode. When the sun shines on the photodiode, the photodiode will change the solar light energy into electric energy and generate electric current. When many cells are connected in series or in parallel, they can become a square array of solar cells with relatively large output power. [1]
