5G technology will be the future of a comprehensive smart city

As we now know, 5G will greatly enhance the mobile experience of millions of smartphone users. In addition, 5G brings us new experiences in areas such as the Internet of things (I0T) and AI, and helps improve our urban life.
In the base-level technology area, 5G will provide faster data speed, higher data capacity, better coverage, lower latency or faster response time than 4G. The combination of these advantages will go beyond improving the smartphone experience and turn the city we live in into a smart city.
What is "smart city"?
"Smart city" may sound like a vague term, but it's easier to understand if smart city is a concept based on Internet of things technology.
Think about how smart homes work. Smart homes are about connecting and communicating multiple low-power digital devices to create a more efficient "online" home. Smart cities are about connecting and coordinating various public facilities and infrastructure to the same terminal.
As Bristol's development plan explains, "using data sensors, smart city technology will be able to respond to everyday real-time events, including traffic congestion, urban waste disposal, entertainment, public opinion monitoring, energy supply, and so on."
In smart cities, smart cars will be able to communicate with pedestrians' smartphones as well as traffic lights and other cars to predict traffic conditions and even avoid collisions (once self-driving cars become mainstream). In smart cities, cars can also communicate and interact with street lighting in their driving areas, so as to determine which road sections are of high frequency of use, which can be used as a reference for the lighting period of this road section, so as to save the power and money of the city and ensure the safety of drivers.
